Who Looks like Who?

I sometimes look at my boys and ask myself, "who in the world do you look like?" So I would like to post some photos of Timmy, me, Zach and Grant, to see if anyone recognizes some similarities between parent and child.

The Bedtime Routine

The bedtime routine is a very important time for me. I have dedicated many hours trying to figure out how to get my boys to sleep. And once I think I have figured out the trick ... they change things up on me again.

This is Grants bedtime routine:

1. Change diaper/put him in his pjs
2. scriptures
3. prayer
4. feed him
5. turn off light
6. turn on fan
7. put him in his crib with his blanket close to his face.
8. Shut the door and he goes to sleep

This is Zachs bedtime routine:

1. Change diaper/put him in his pjs (some days it is quick, other times not so much)
2. scriptures
3. Prayer
4. brush his teeth
5. get his drink ready
6. change the batteries for his nightlight
7. read three books (I had to put a limit on it, because he could go for awhile!)
8. while I read to him, he has to have crackers, so we need to brush his teeth again after that.
9. He turns off the light
10. I sing about five songs, depending on how nice I am feeling. Now he sings the songs with me, which is so cute. His favorite song is "Once there was a snowman"
11. Then I say another prayer with him,
12. Then I put him in his bed, make sure he has his two blankets, his teddy bear and books at the end of his crib.
13. I turn on his fan and his heater then I shut the door.

And still tonight, he woke up an hour later wanting to see me again. And he has started to add more steps to his routine. He now wants to help me put Grant to bed and turn off his light and turn on his fan.

So what is the moral of the story? I think Zach has mastered the art of prolonging his bedtime! It won't be long until Grant starts perfecting this art.

A glimpse into what heaven must be like

This has been a crazy week to say the least:

Zach went to three Easter egg hunts in which he mastered the art of picking up eggs.

Grant has gone to see the Pediatrician, Natural allergist, and the dermatologist

We deep cleaned our house

Two birthday parties

Visiting teaching

and then

General Conference

I know that life will get busier, and that time seems to be moving faster by the second.

But as I was looking through the pictures wondering which picture to post to demonstrate this wild week. I found this sweet picture that brought me such peace and happiness and reminded me of what a lucky girl I am. I don't know what day it was, but I remember doing the dishes and looking into the living room and seeing my sweet boys. Grant was playing with his toys and Zach instead of attacking Grant, had the scriptures open. I had to take a picture of course, because this moment I knew was special and may never happen again. I stopped doing the dishes (which wasn't hard) and hung out with my boys for the rest of the day, because time moves too fast, and moments like these slip away too quickly. Before I know it these sweet boys will be all grown up and be gone before I know I am ready for them to leave!
